A video programme by SAW Video Media Art Centre.

Public Domain originated as a video commissioning project of SAW Video, a media-art
centre located in Ottawa. In 2009, seven artists were selected from a national
call for proposals to create videos drawn from archival films and photographs held in
the collection of Library and Archives Canada. Over the course of a year, SAW Video
assisted the artists with the process of researching and collecting materials for use in
their work. The completed commissioning project premiered in Ottawa on June 24,
2010, and has toured to a number of venues across Canada, the USA, and the
UK in 2011-13.

On Saturday, March 2nd – Welcome back golfers. It is time to finish of this years round with a bang! The theme for the back 9 will be TV shows so get your teams and costumes ready to go. As many of you know, each hole of the back 9 will be a different bar in the hub area where each team will stop and indulge in a different drink at each of those bars.

Registration will start at 8pm at Ale house where you will be given wristbands and score cards for your team. These bracelets will allow for line skip at every bar on the back 9 as well as line skip and no cover back into Ale. The round will cost $10 per Golfer.

The Artel is accepting exhibition submissions for our spring/summer programming schedule. The Artel is a collective-run art space which hosts a variety of artistic activity in Kingston including, but not limited to, exhibitions, poetry readings, life drawing, concerts and screenings. The Artel Collective has a mandate to both create, and provide support for, art that the public would not otherwise be able to access easily in Kingston. Our collective operating structure and co-habitation model intends to promote a philosophy of “art as a way of life” and “creativity in all things.”

But that’s not where it ends – stick around afterward for Awesome Hours, where you can sit down with trustees, past pitchers and winners, and enthusiastic community members to chat about the Awesome Foundation, your pitch idea, or anything that’s on your mind.
