Kingston Canadian Film Festival 2013

The mission of Kingston Canadian Film Festival is grounded in the belief that Canadian film and filmmakers are distinctive and vital to our country’s culture.

On Sunday, March 24th, 2013, the Queen’s University Crohn’s and Colitis Committee (ASUS) will host the 2nd Annual Gutsy Walk around the campus!  Whether it be students, family members or friends, IBD has profound impacts on students across the country. Together we can help find the cure!

Last year, we raised over $6000 and plan to beat that this year!

Join us in walking, running, cycling, longboarding or even skipping the 5km course.  Our event will finish outside of Stauffer Library, where there will be a BBQ.    Come on out and join us for this great event!

Announcing the third annual Queen’s Conference on Water!

Presented by the AMS Committee, STRIVE (Students Taking Responsible Initiative for a Viable Environment)

This will be one of the prime events of the year to discuss global water conservation and sustainability at Queen’s. With the ban on water bottle purchases on campus, Queen’s is already at the forefront of the Canadian university fight to conserve our water!

Everyone is welcome, admission is free, and there will be free beverages and snacks to accompany the presentations.

Speaking will be Prof. Steven Moore:

Prof. Moore is active in the Queen’s community as a Member of the Queen’s Sustainability Advisory Committee, the Queen’s Carbon Action Plan Advisory Committee, and the Queen’s Carbon Action Plan Curriculum and Research Committee. He will certainly bring some insightful material to discuss.

The Exposure Art Festival is looking for talented artists and designers to sell their products and/or designs at this years Design Fair!! We are looking for students who have created their own items and want to sell them! Items include:

– accessories – jewelry – artwork – paintings – clothes – photos – and any other handmade crafts/designs!

All profits go to the artists, and it’s a great way to get your brand out there! If you are interested, please submit an example of your designs or items to before February 24th!!

Leading up to international Women’s Day on March 8th, Oxfam Canada’s Show Your Love Campaign is trying to raise $50 000 to aid in projects targeting global poverty relief. Oxfam believes that ending global poverty begins with women’s rights and gender equality. There are enough resources in the world, the problem with how they are shared.
